These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a binding legal agreement between you ("You," "User," or "Patient") and Vera Beauty Inc. ("Vera," "we," "us," or "our").
These Terms govern your access to and use of our mobile application (the "Vera App"), our website currently located at verakorea.co, and any related services, including Vera Research, Vera Talk, Vera Diary, Vera Reception, and the AI Aesthetician (collectively, the "Services").
PLEASE READ THESE TERMS CAREFULLY. THEY CONTAIN IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS, REMEDIES, AND OBLIGATIONS, INCLUDING A REQUIREMENT TO RESOLVE DISPUTES THROUGH INDIVIDUAL ARBITRATION AND A WAIVER OF CLASS ACTIONS.
In other words: You must be an adult to use Vera because aesthetic treatments are serious business. By using the app, you agree to play by these rules.
By accessing, downloading, or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must strictly stop using the Services and delete the Vera App.
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Services. The Services discuss and facilitate Aesthetic Treatments (as defined below) which are not suitable for minors. By using the Services, you represent and warrant that you are of legal age to form a binding contract and meet all eligibility requirements.
To ensure we are speaking the same language, we use the following definitions:
In other words: We are a technology company, not a doctor. We provide data, community, and tools to help you make decisions, but we do not provide medical advice. Always consult a professional.
VERA DOES NOT PROVIDE MEDICAL ADVICE, DIAGNOSIS, OR TREATMENT. The content provided through Vera Research, the AI Aesthetician (AIA), Vera Talk, and Vera Diary is for informational and educational purposes only.
No Doctor-Patient Relationship: Use of the Services does not create a doctor-patient relationship between you and Vera.
Risk: Aesthetic Treatments involve significant risks, including physical injury, disfigurement, and complications. You assume full responsibility for your decisions regarding medical care.
Emergency: If you think you have a medical emergency, call your doctor or emergency services immediately.
We strive to keep the Vera Taxonomy and provider database accurate, but we cannot guarantee that all information is completely current or error-free. Information about treatments (e.g., downtime, pain levels, results) is generalized and may not apply to your specific physiology.
Our AIA features (including facial analysis, scanning agents, and chatbots) utilize artificial intelligence to analyze images and text.
Estimations Only: Results such as "facial age," "wrinkle score," or treatment recommendations are algorithmic estimates, not clinical diagnoses.
Limitations: AI can hallucinate or misinterpret images due to lighting, angle, or makeup. Do not rely on AIA for medical decisions.
In other words: When you book a clinic through Vera, you are hiring that clinic, not us. We act as the connector (like Airbnb for medspas).
Vera Reception allows you to book Appointments with third-party Providers. Vera acts solely as a technology platform and intermediary. The contract for the Aesthetic Treatment is strictly between You (the Patient) and the Provider. Vera is not a party to that medical contract.
While we curate Providers and may designate some as "Vera Verified," this indicates they meet our internal quality standards for facility and service. It is not a guarantee of medical outcomes or safety. You are responsible for verifying the credentials of any Provider you visit.
Booking Service: We may charge a service fee for the use of our platform, which will be disclosed at checkout.
Deposits: Providers may require a deposit to secure an Appointment. Vera collects this on behalf of the Provider.
Payment Processing: We use third-party payment processors (e.g., Stripe). You agree to their applicable terms of service.
Final Bills: Unless you pay in full through the App, the balance for your treatment is due directly to the Provider at the time of service.
Cancellation policies are set by the individual Provider or by Vera’s platform default policy, displayed at the time of booking. Failure to attend a confirmed Appointment ("No-Show") may result in the forfeiture of your deposit or a penalty fee.
In other words: Be honest and kind. You own your story, but you give us permission to display it. Don't post illegal stuff or medical advice.
You are solely responsible for the photos, reviews, diary entries, and messages you post to Vera Talk or Vera Diary ("User Content").
By posting User Content (specifically in public areas like Reviews or Public Talk Groups), you grant Vera a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual license to use, reproduce, modify, and display such content to operate and promote the Services.
Note: Private entries in Vera Diary that are not shared remain private to you, subject to our Privacy Policy.
You agree strictly NOT to: Post false or misleading Reviews (e.g., reviewing a clinic you never visited). Provide specific medical advice to other users. Harass, bully, or defame other users or Providers. Post graphic or gratuitous gore (post-op photos must be for informational/tracking purposes).
Vera reserves the right (but has no obligation) to monitor Vera Talk and remove any content that violates these Terms or our brand values of honesty and empathy.
In other words: If you fly to Korea (or anywhere else) for a treatment, the travel logistics are on you.
Many Users use Vera to find care in Korea.
Travel Documents: You are responsible for obtaining valid passports and visas (e.g., K-ETA for Korea).
Insurance: We strongly recommend medical travel insurance. Most standard travel insurance does not cover complications from elective aesthetic procedures.
Jurisdiction of Care: If you receive treatment in a foreign country (e.g., South Korea), legal recourse for medical malpractice is generally governed by the laws of that country, not the United States.
You agree not to: Scrape, copy, or reverse engineer the Vera Taxonomy or Provider database. Use the Services to solicit Users for outside businesses (spam). Impersonate any person or entity, including Vera staff.
8.1 AS-IS Service. THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." VERA DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
8.2 Limitation of Liability. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW: VERA SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES. VERA SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY PERSONAL INJURY, BODILY HARM, OR EMOTIONAL DISTRESS ARISING FROM AESTHETIC TREATMENTS PERFORMED BY THIRD-PARTY PROVIDERS CONNECTED THROUGH THE SERVICE. VERA’S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF THESE TERMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID VERA IN THE PAST 12 MONTHS OR (B) $100 USD.
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Vera Beauty Inc., its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including legal fees) arising out of: Your use of the Services; Your violation of these Terms; Your User Content; or Any dispute between You and a Provider.
10.1 Binding Arbitration. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Services will be settled by binding arbitration in Los Angeles County, California, under the Consumer Arbitration Rules of the American Arbitration Association (AAA).
10.2 Class Action Waiver. YOU AND VERA AGREE THAT EACH MAY BRING CLAIMS AGAINST THE OTHER ONLY IN YOUR OR ITS INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY AND NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY PURPORTED CLASS OR REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING.
10.3 Governing Law. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Changes: We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we will notify you (e.g., via email or App notification). Continued use constitutes acceptance.
Severability: If any provision is found invalid, the remaining provisions remain in full effect.
